Manifesto

Signal Read

A free one-page read on your marketing.

You give us a work email and a domain. You get back a single page: your primary pillar, five to seven findings, and the system behind each one. It is the read we would do before quoting anyone — written short enough that you will actually use it.

How it runs

Three steps, no discovery call required to start.

01

You send four fields

Name, work email, your role, and a Telegram or WhatsApp handle to reply on. We read your domain from the email — there is no questionnaire and no analytics access to hand over.

02

A person reads your marketing

We work from what is publicly visible: your site, your search and answer-engine footprint, your earned coverage, your creator and social output. If you want something specific looked at, say so on the handle you gave us.

03

One page comes back

Written by a person, in batches — not generated the moment you press send. You get an email either way: the read itself, or a straight note that we cannot take it on this cycle.

What is on the page

The same structure every time, so two reads a year are comparable.

Run it yourself →

The one page

1 page · 5–7 findings
  • One primary pillar — PR, influence, growth, or AI — and the two you should not be doing this quarter
  • 5–7 findings, no more: what is working, what is theatre, what is missing
  • The system that would fix each finding, named — not a tactic to try
  • One next step you can act on without hiring anyone

Would rather write it yourself? The Signal Read sketcher in the skills directory is the same structure, published in full and free to run.

Who it is for

Marketing leads and founders with a live site, a live budget, and a quarter they have to defend.

You inherited the function

New in the role, or the founder still owns marketing, and you need an outside read on what is actually running before you commit next quarter’s budget.

Marketing lead · founderGood fit

You are about to brief an agency

A read gives you the questions to ask and a baseline to judge the answers against — including ours.

Before an RFPGood fit

Effort is up, results are flat

Plenty shipping across channels and no clear line to commercial outcome. The read names which of it is theatre.

Mid-quarter resetGood fit

Pre-launch, with no site

There is nothing public to read yet. Come back when something is live — or plan the launch straight from the directories.

Nothing to readNot yet

Scope, stated up front

Free means free. It also means bounded — here is exactly where the line sits.

One page, 5–7 findings

The limit is deliberate. A read you can hand to a founder in a meeting beats a 60-page deck nobody opens, and it forces us to say which problem actually matters.

One per domain, every 90 days

A read is a snapshot. Running it again before a quarter has passed tells you nothing you did not already know, so the door reopens after 90 days.

Full audits are paid work

Competitive teardowns, media landscape mapping, creator due diligence and roadmap work are commercial engagements. The free read tells you whether you need one.

Public signals only

We do not ask for analytics logins, ad accounts or CRM exports. If you want those read, that is the paid engagement, not this.
